COVID-19
Ensuring your Safety at Maritime Museum Tasmania
We are taking proactive measures to maintain a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone who walks through our doors. We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and following guidelines and recommendations provided by the Tasmanian Government Department of Health.
While the Public Health Emergency Declaration for COVID-19 ended on 30 June 2022, it does not mean our safeguarding responsibilities have ended.
We have implemented rigorous cleaning protocols throughout the Museum to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. We conduct frequent disinfection of high-touch areas such as handrails, doorknobs, and interactive displays.
Hand sanitization stations are readily available in various locations for your convenience.
Social Distancing:
We kindly request all visitors to maintain a safe distance of at least 1.5 metres from others who are not part of their group. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us create a safe environment for everyone.
Face Masks:
We do not require visitors and staff to wear face masks or coverings while inside the Museum premises, however, you are welcome to wear protection you deem necessary to reduce potential transmission of the virus.
Contactless Payments:
We strongly encourage visitors to use contactless payment methods, such as credit cards or mobile payment options, whenever possible, but we also welcome cash payments.
Additionally, we are enhancing our online services to provide educational resources and other engaging content for those who may prefer to experience the Museum from the comfort of their homes.
We are committed to adapting and implementing additional measures as required to comply with changing guidelines and regulations.
Please be aware that certain areas or exhibits within the museum may have temporary restrictions or closures in place for safety reasons.
We appreciate your understanding, patience, and support as we navigate through these challenging times together.
If you have any specific concerns or questions regarding your visit, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your continued support and trust in Maritime Museum Tasmania.
