Historic Vessels
More than a Museum
As well as our in-house displays, the museum helps maintain two significant historic vessels on display in Constitution Dock.
The SV May Queen is Australia’s oldest sail trading vessel and is one of only a handful of wooden vessels of her era still afloat in the world.
The Westward holds the record for being the only Tasmanian-made boat to win the Sydney to Hobart yacht race twice!
You can learn more about these fascinating vessels in the pages below, or visit them next time you're walking along Hobart's waterfront.
The display of SV May Queen and Westward is generously supported by TasPorts.
